Young Artist Vocal Competition

The Choral Society of the Palm Beaches was pleased to host the 2025 Young Artist Vocal Competition on May 4, 2025 at Lakeside Presbyterian Church. We are proud to provide financial support and encourage exceptionally gifted high school seniors and college freshmen as they pursue a career in music.

The 2025 Contestants: First row - 1st Place Winner - Emily Puentes; Second Row - Luna Yeboah, 2nd Place Winner - Jillian Bender, 3rd Place Winner - Hank Evans and Marianna Rodriguez; Third Row - Summer Kazim, Annette Fregio, 4th Place Winner - Nicole Van Esselstyn, Mikayla Beatty and Milena Denic; Fourth row - Sebastian Krupa and Simon Smith.

The Scholarship Winners: Nicole Van Esselstyn, Hank Evans, Jillian Bender and Emily Puentes.

All of the contestants did an amazing job and we want to wish them all a wonderful summer and congratulate them on a job well done.

Requirements:

  1. Palm Beach County residents, high school seniors or current college freshmen only.

  2. Two musical selections performed live. One must be in English.

  3. Major or minor in music with a concentration in voice (i.e. music education, music therapy, musical theatre, etc.)

FAQ’s

Is there an application fee?

No. There is no fee to apply.

Will an accompanist be provided?

We provide an accompanist, yes.

How will I know what specific time I will perform?

You will perform in the order in which you checked in on competition day.

Do I need to mail copies of my music in advance?

You will email your music to choral.society@gmail.com at the time of registration and bring copies with you to the competition.

May I change my musical selections after I submit my application?

Yes.  You may email choral.society@gmail.com with any changes up until the registration deadline date.

Do I need to wear formal concert attire to the competition?

We recommend business attire so that you represent confidence, professionalism and poise.  Your appearance will make an impression on the judges too!

Is the competition open to the public?

Yes.  Friends, family and fans are encouraged to come and support the singers.

Do I need to attend the entire day of the competition?

Yes.  You need to attend the entire day of the competition as scholarship awards are presented after all the contestants have performed their selections.
